NEW TRAYS

The new MATRIX tray collection is here! Lots of new patterns and colours, as always screen-printed onto fabric in our studio and then pressed into trays. The trays serve as useful bases for pens, glasses, utensils, food and more. Versatile variants allow for colourful or subtle combinations for individual use. The trays are available online or in the MATRIX shop.

CUSHIONS

To accompany the blankets after Camille Graeser, we carry a small number of sofa cushions in the MATRIX Shop. The front of the cushion cover is made of 100% superfine merino wool, while the back is made of pure linen. The filling consists of sheep's wool granulate from the Emmental region and Swiss stone pine shavings from Graubünden.

COASTERS

Finally back in our range: MATRIX hexagonal coasters. Whether placed under a hot cup of tea or a pan straight off the stove, these coasters protect table surfaces from burn marks and water stains. These practical everyday helpers are an upcycled product. We cut them from faulty trays. Each coaster therefore contains fabric printed by MATRIX. Our coasters are dishwasher-safe, heat-resistant and handmade in Basel.

Φ [fi:]

Since antiquity, the golden ratio has been used in the arts, in architecture, and in fashion due to its aesthetically pleasing nature. This principle of proportions describes a ratio that is perceived as particularly harmonious to the human eye and in mathematics, it is represented by the Greek letter Φ [fi:].

The new MATRIX Foulard Collection 2025/26 is inspired by the golden ratio and other mathematical number sequences. As such, we have drawn inspiration from the fields of science, nature, and design history to bring you the present iteration of foulards and scarves, screen-printed on silk and wool.

A BLANKET AFTER CAMILLE GRAESER

On 21 March 2025, von Bartha Basel opened the exhibition «Yours, Camille Graeser». The exhibition features a selection of unpublished works by the Swiss avant-garde artist, designer and interior decorator Camille Graeser (1892-1980).

Camille Graeser's oeuvre includes a large number of drawings for wallpaper, furniture, clothing and decorative fabrics. On the occasion of the exhibition at von Bartha and in collaboration with the Camille Graeser Foundation Zurich, MATRIX has designed and coloured a collection of blankets. The pattern of the blankets is inspired by Camille Graeser's work «Drei progressive Kontraste». Knitted in Switzerland from 100% merino wool and presented in a screen printed box, the blankets can be viewed and purchased in the MATRIX shop Basel and also in our online shop.
